The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran denied the transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia

“Iranian-Russian military cooperation is not new, it has its history long before the beginning of the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine””, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi has denied allegations that Iran sent ballistic missiles to Russia for use in the war in Ukraine.

“I clearly said and I repeat again: we did not provide Russia with ballistic missiles. If Europe needs something to appease Israel’s blackmail, it’s better to find another story,” wrote Minister H.

Also, according to the Israeli minister, “Iranian-Russian military cooperation is not new, it has its history long before the beginning of the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine.”

The head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry also accused European countries of having “provided the Israeli regime with all types of modern weapons and indirectly participated in the military operation against Iran.”

Earlier, seven members of the UN Security Council accused Russia of abusing its position as a permanent member of the Security Council by buying North Korean missiles and using them to attack Ukraine in violation of UN resolutions.

The statement indicates that on December 30, 2023, January 2, and January 6, 2024, Russia carried out several waves of airstrikes against Ukraine, as a result of which dozens of people were killed and hundreds were injured – these attacks were carried out, in particular, with the use of ballistic missiles and ballistic missile launchers missiles purchased from the DPRK.

On January 4, the White House said that North Korea had recently provided Russia with ballistic missiles and launchers for use by Moscow in its war against Ukraine.

Before that, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing unnamed American officials, that Russia plans to purchase short-range ballistic missiles from Iran and is already receiving dozens of ballistic missiles and launchers from North Korea, which causes “deep concern” in the administration of the US president.

Recently, the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain, citing its intelligence, stated that North Korea could become one of the most important suppliers of weapons to Russia, along with Iran and Belarus.

British intelligence noted that almost certainly North Korean ammunition had already reached warehouses in western Russia.

Before that, the United States said that North Korea had delivered more than 1,000 containers of military equipment and ammunition to Russia in recent weeks. The Kremlin said the US had no evidence that the weapons had been supplied.

Washington-based analysts at Beyond Parallel published satellite images of increased train traffic along Russia’s border with North Korea. The increase in activity, experts said, “probably indicates North Korea’s supply of weapons and ammunition to Russia.”
