In particular, Russian troops:
- attacked four times in Kharkiv Oblast, near Vovchansk and Kozacha Lopan
- carried out eight assaults in the Kupyansk direction; Defense forces repelled assaults near Petropavlivka and Pishchany
- attacked 12 times in the Lyman direction, where the Russian army tried to advance near the settlements of Kopanky, Shiykivka, Pershotravneve, Makiivka, Tverdokhlibov, Terny and Zarichne
- in the Kramatorsk direction, they engaged in combat 15 times near Chasovoy Yar and Stupochky
- carried out 13 attacks in the Toretsk direction near Toretsk, Bila Hora and Shcherbinivka
- resorted to 58 assault and offensive actions in the Pokrovsky direction near Elizavetivka, Lysivka, Zeleny, Premen, Novy Trud, Pokrovsk, Udachny, Kotlyny, Novovasylivka, Srybny, Petropavlivka, Novoandriivka, Dachny, Shevchenko and Yantarny
- nine times they attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Novopavlovsk direction near the settlements of Kostyantynopol, Neskuchne, Vremivka, and Rivnopil; Russian actively worked in this direction
- stormed unsuccessfully once in the Dnieper direction
- 17 times attacked in Kurshchyna, Russian Federation, Ukrainian troops repelled the attacks
“Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has not carried out active operations in the Siverskyi, Orihivskyi and Gulyaipilskyi directions,” reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The American Institute for the Study of War noted in its January 12 analysis that the Russian invaders advanced in the Kupyan, Toretsk, Pokrovsky, and Kurakhiv directions. In particular, based on geolocation data, analysts believe that the Russian army has advanced in the northwest of Toretsk.
