Details: The agency’s interlocutors claim that the European Commission consults with the EU Member States on the disconnection plans of more than 20 Russian banks from the SWIFT international payment system, as well as reducing the price ceiling for Russian oil and introducing a ban on the Nord Stream gas pipelines within the 18th Package.

The EU considers an additional ban on financial transactions for about two dozen banks and new trade restrictions in the amount of about 2.5 billion euros, trying to reduce Russia’s income even more and limit its access to technologies required for weapons production.

As part of the Package of Sanctions, the European Commission also plans to offer a reduction in the established G7 of the price ceiling for Russian oil to about $ 45.

It is known that this restriction is now $ 60 and prohibits providers from G7 services to transport and serve oil sales if the price exceeds this limit. The price will be required to reduce the price.

According to the agency, the key to the new package is the intent of the EU to impose sanctions against the Nord Stream gas pipelines. The sanctions will additionally confirm Europe’s position on the unwillingness to restore the supply of Russian pipeline gas.

In addition, the European Union wants to extend sanctions against the “shadow fleet” of Russian tankers and considers further restrictions on banks that contribute to the war of Russia, as well as against the Russian direct investment fund.

The new, already 18th sanctioned package of a full-scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine in 2022, also wants to include provisions that will protect European companies from arbitration under bilateral investment agreements.

On May 23, it became known that the European Commission will hold consultations with EU Member States on subsequent sanctions against Russia.

It is known that US President Donald Trump has previously stated that he wanted to reduce global oil prices for oil, which will make it possible to complete a full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine.

And the United Kingdom urged its G7 partners to agree to reduce the price ceiling into Russian oil, stating that this step is necessary to increase the pressure on the head of the Kremlin Vladimir Putin in order to end Russia’s war against Ukraine.
