The EU plans to postpone the plan to abandon Russian fuel for a month

The European Commission is likely to delay the planned publication date of a roadmap for phasing out the latest fuels from Russia, including liquefied natural gas.

Bloomberg writes about it.

The bloc’s executive body may present the plan on March 26, a month later than originally planned. The roadmap is expected to outline the steps needed for European Union member states to completely cut off Russian fuel, part of an effort to end funding for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

LNG from Moscow remains one of Europe’s last major energy dependencies after pipeline flows through Ukraine stopped late last year. Last year, the EU imported record volumes of supercooled fuel from Russia, with France, Spain and Belgium the biggest importers. A number of EU countries also continue to import nuclear fuel from Ukraine.

We will remind:

The European Commission will continue negotiations with Ukraine on the supply of natural gas to Europe and will involve Hungary and Slovakia in these discussions.

On the morning of January 1, Ukraine stopped the transit of Russian gas. The gas transport system operates in the mode without transit.
