The death of a Ukrainian at the border: DBR stated that the outfit opened a warning fire

The border outfit on the Ukrainian-Moldovan border opened a warning fire towards two conscripts who tried to cross the Ukrainian-Moldovan border in Odesa region on September 1. Upon the death of one of the fugitives, the State Bureau of Investigation opened criminal proceedings.

Literally: “According to preliminary data, on September 1, at about 6 o’clock, the border outfit during the patrol of the border noticed two men who crossed the protective structures and moved towards Moldova. They did not respond to the legitimate demands of law enforcement officers.

Details: It is reported that the body of one of the fugitives with a gunshot wound, incompatible with life, was later discovered. Another man was detained on the spot.

The DBR was informed that the dead was a 23-year-old Kharkiv resident, with a passport for traveling abroad and personal belongings.

In the framework of the registered criminal proceedings, the DBR investigators inspected the scene, seized the personal belongings of the deceased and the weapons from which the shots were carried out. Border guards and witnesses are questioned.

Investigative actions are currently underway, all the circumstances of the tragedy are being established.
