The court extended the arrest of Hrynkevich’s son and reduced the amount of bail

The Pechersk Court of Kyiv extended Roman Hrynkevich’s arrest until January 21, 2025. The bail was also reduced to 302 million hryvnias, Suspilne reports.

Earlier, on November 26, the Shevchenko Court of Kyiv extended the detention of Roman Hrynkevich’s father, Ihor Hrynkevich, in custody until January 24, and set him bail in the amount of 298,258 thousand hryvnias.

The suspect was detained in Odesa in January of this year and has been in custody since then. On April 12, the court again reduced the amount of the bail, in March it was UAH 469 million.

He is charged with participation in a criminal organization and fraud committed during martial law on a particularly large scale (Parts 1, 2 of Article 255, Part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Roman Hrynkevich is one of the five suspects in the criminal proceedings concerning the purchase of clothing for the Armed Forces. According to the investigation, the amount of purchases reached almost 1 billion hryvnias. Three other suspects were remanded in custody for two months at the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv, with the possibility of bail in the amount of 500 million hryvnias.

The main figure in the case – businessman Ihor Hrynkevich – has been in custody since the end of December 2023. He was detained while trying to pay a bribe of 500,000 dollars to one of the heads of the main investigative department of the SBI for assistance in the return of property seized from companies under his control during the investigation of criminal proceedings. Then Hrynkevich was informed about the suspicion of offering an illegal benefit to an official. On January 17, he was also informed of the suspicion in the case regarding the procurement of clothing for the Armed Forces.

Five members of the organization, which, according to the SBI, was created by Ihor Hrynkevich, were informed of the suspicion of creating and participating in a criminal organization, in fraud committed under martial law.

On January 9, Roman Hrynkevich wrote on the Instagram social network that his family’s activities took place within the framework of current legislation. He called the scandal itself “out of order.”
