The court chose Shabunin a preventive measure

The Pechersk Court chose a preventive measure of the head of the board of NGO “Center for Combating Corruption” Vitaliy Shabunin in the form of a personal obligation by August 20.

Details: This preventive measure assumes that Shabunin should:

Advertising:

• Arrive at the call of the investigator, judge or prosecutor;
• Hand over a foreign passport;
• Not to leave the place where the service carries, with the exception of the tasks and permission of the court;
• Refrain from communicating with NAPC employees, former Yushko commander and representatives of the unit;
• Do not visit the building of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau.

During the meeting, Shabunin’s lawyer declared his dismissal of the Pechersk Court Judge Svetlana Greek. However, the court denied request.

The UE also has the text of Shabunin’s suspicion, which was presented by the DBR prosecutors during the meeting.

Prehistory:

• In March 2024, the head of the Corruption Center Vitaliy Shabunin stated that the State Bureau of Investigation had registered two criminal proceedings against him: for “evasion of military service” and “forgery of documents from NAPC”.
• Shabunin himself stated that he voluntarily mobilized in the Armed Forces in the early days of the war and showed a photo of a military ticket stating that he took the oath of military oath on February 25, 2022.
• On July 11, the DBR reported to the chairman of Shabunin of suspicion of evasion of military service and fraud.
• Shabunin called President Vladimir Zelensky after the searches and stated that he was taking “confident steps towards corruption authoritarianism.”
