Details: The actions of a 52-year-old Lviv resident were qualified under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely: under Part 1 of Art. 115 (premeditated murder) and Part 1 of Art. 263 (illegal weapons handling).

At the same time, he rejected the report that the Russian special services were blackmailed, and added that he wanted him to be exchanged for prisoners of war and he could find his son’s body.
Prehistory:
- On August 30, 2025, the current people’s deputy and former Verkhovna Rada chairman were killed in Lviv. According to the Attorney General’s office, an unknown man fired several shots in a politician, which resulted in Parubiy died on the spot. The attacker fled, a special operation “Siren” was introduced in the city.
- Zelensky reported on the night of September 1 about the detention of the suspect in the murder of the former Verkhovna Rada. Interior Minister Igor Klimenko said that the suspect was detained in Khmelnytskyi.
- The National Police showed the first photos of the detained suspect. The head of the National Police Ivan Vygovsky stressed that this crime is not accidental, and that it has a Russian mark.
- At a briefing on September 1, law enforcement officers reported that the investigation did not reject any of the versions in the murder of the People’s Deputy Andriy Parubiy, but they believe – a Russian mark.
- Radio Liberty journalists claim that the suspect in the murder of Parubiy during the first interrogations confessed to the committed and reported his contacts with representatives of Russia.
