The Council has appointed the day of consideration of the law of Zelensky on the independence of NABU and SAP

The Verkhovna Rada decided to hold a meeting on July 31 to consider the Presidential Bill 13533, which Volodymyr Zelenskyy promises to provide independence to the anti -corruption bodies of Ukraine.

That preceded:

• On July 22, the Verkhovna Rada approved Law No. 12414 as amended to the Criminal Procedure Code, according to which NABU and SAPs become dependent on the decisions of the Prosecutor General. On the evening of July 22, the President signed the document.
• In many cities of Ukraine, protests have taken place after this legislative initiative was adopted.
• Subsequently, Zelensky introduced a bill in the Verkhovna Rada, which, he said, will provide “force of law and order” and retain “all rules for the independence of anti -corruption institutions”.
• The National Antorburea stated that the Bill of Zelensky will restore all the powers and guarantees of independence for NABU and the SAP.
