Direct speech: “The other day, I reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces about the situation in the 155th brigade and the decisions made by the command of the Ground Forces to support the unit and solve the problematic issues voiced by both the servicemen themselves and journalists. I explained the situation, named the reasons, those responsible. I also met with brigade command and French journalists currently working in the unit visit the positions to see with their own eyes how soldiers of “Anna of Kyiv” perform combat tasks and operate weapons provided by France.
Advertising:
I believe that it was too early to go public before establishing all the circumstances, however, as of today, I can already inform the public about the measures taken by CSR to stabilize the situation in the 155th brigade.
All the events related to the creation of the 155th brigade happened before my appointment to the KSV. However, I consider it my duty to respond to the problems of the subordinate unit and solve them systematically – at all levels that depend on me.”
Details: According to Drapaty, since the formation and arming of a new brigade “from scratch” together with a foreign country took place for the first time and in a rather short period of time – in just a few months, “no one had such experience before, so it was impossible to predict all the nuances and details of this process.” .
For example, a project of this scale became a challenge for CSR, and not all services worked perfectly. The French side has fully fulfilled its obligations to Ukraine, the commander assures.
According to the Major General, most of the systemic deficiencies committed by the Ground Forces Command, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Operational Command at all stages of the formation of the 155th Brigade have now been analyzed, they have been assessed, and solutions are already being implemented on individual issues.
Currently, the focus is on staffing the brigade with experienced officers and commanders of all ranks. “I deal with this issue personally. I am ready to consider all, contact this email address: 155bde@mil.ua“, Drapaty assured.
According to the commander, the Ministry of Defense is working on providing the brigade “to the maximum”.
A special group of psychologists is working in the units to strengthen the combat brigade, which has already brought certain results, for example, the return of servicemen who voluntarily left the unit, the commander claims.
Direct speech: “…according to my decision, the special hotline of the commander of the Ground Forces for the servicemen of the 155th brigade will operate from today. In addition to official daily reports, I want to have direct contact and hear from the soldier, to understand how much our decisions affect his motivation and the real state of affairs.
Phone: 0800-500-410 (after listening – number 5). It works from 09.00 to 18.00 daily.
And finally. I believe that the 155th brigade named after Anna of Kyiv is promising and will prove itself. Yes, it takes time and effort of many to correct mistakes made during formation. But the newly created Ukrainian brigade named after Anna of Kyiv can and should become a real “Gallic rooster” – a symbol of France: proud, indomitable, and ready to fight for freedom.”
