In particular, the agreement will strengthen military cooperation in the field of maritime security.

The statement emphasized that Ukraine has a highly qualified army and a thriving technological sector, which is rapidly developing and deploying the most modern combat equipment, and therefore a partnership with Ukraine in the field of security will make Britain stronger.

It is also expected that Starmer will announce new support for Ukraine from Great Britain – “from lethal aid to economic stability.”

The Prime Minister of Great Britain said that the head of the Kremlin, Volodymyr Putin, suffered a colossal strategic defeat in his desire to separate Ukraine from its closest partners.

“Instead, we have become closer than ever, and this partnership will take our friendship to a new level. It is not only about the here and now, but also about investing in our two countries for the next century, combining technological development, scientific achievements and cultural exchanges, as well as the use of phenomenal innovations demonstrated by Ukraine in recent years, for future generations,” Starmer emphasized.

UPDATED AT 10:09 AM. In Kyiv, Starmer was met by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain and the former Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhny.
