The blowing up of a Black Sea Fleet officer’s car in Sevastopol was a SBU operation – source

The explosion of a Russian military vehicle in occupied Sevastopol on November 13 was a special operation of the Security Service of Ukraine, a source in the special service told Radio Liberty.

According to his information, the deceased is Valery Trankovskyi, chief of staff of the 41st brigade of missile ships and boats of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. As a result of the explosion, his legs were torn off, he died from blood loss.

“Trankovsky is a war criminal who gave orders to launch cruise missiles from the Black Sea at civilian objects in Ukraine. In particular, he shelled Vinnytsia with Calibers in July 2022. Then 29 civilians died. Also, the scum repeatedly shelled Odesa and other peaceful cities, as a result of which many civilians died. He was an absolutely legal target from the point of view of the laws and customs of warfare,” said the RFE/RL interlocutor.

The source referred to reports in the Russian media that Trankovsky was being followed for about a week, and an improvised explosive device in his car was activated remotely:

“It is symbolic that the Russian war criminal, on whose hands the blood of dozens of peaceful Ukrainians, ended his inglorious life on Taras Shevchenko Street in Sevastopol.”

In occupied Sevastopol, on the morning of November 13, a car exploded on Shevchenko Street, the driver was killed. Russian sources reported that the deceased was the commander of the headquarters of the 41st missile boat brigade of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

In 2023, Ukrainian intelligence reported that the commander of the Russian submarine “Krasnodar”, Stanislav Rzytskyi, who was killed in the Russian city of Krasnodar, was involved in missile attacks on Ukraine. Among them is the attack on Vinnytsia in 2022, as a result of which a total of 27 people died.
