Based on the results of the inspection, the commander of the Support Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ordered an official investigation, the materials of which were sent to the Ternopil Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the field of defense of the Western region. However, they added that by the decision of the Husyatinsky District Court of the Ternopil Region dated September 12, 2024, the Chief of Staff – Deputy Commander of the 211th Pontoon Bridge Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Valery Pastukh was brought to administrative responsibility for negligent service during martial law. He paid a fine of 34,000 hryvnias.
On the day of the publication of the UP investigation, on December 16, by order of Commander-in-Chief Pastukh, he was transferred to another type of Armed Forces.

- On December 16, “Ukrainian Pravda” published an investigation into the extortion of money and abuse of servicemen in the 211th pontoon-bridge brigade of the Armed Forces Support Forces.
- Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky ordered an inspection and suspended the commander of the military unit Oleg Poberezhniuk for the duration of the inspection.
- On December 17, the employees of the State Criminal Investigation Department opened criminal proceedings regarding the discovery of possible facts of the use of non-statutory measures of influence and violence against subordinates by officials of the 211 pontoon-bridge brigade.
- The commander of this unit, Colonel Poberezhnyuk, was informed of the suspicion of abuse of office.
- On December 19, the court chose a preventive measure for him – detention for two months with the right to post bail in the amount of 908,400 hryvnias.
