Sullivan noted that the United States provided Ukraine with tanks, approved the transfer of F-16 fighters, HIMARS and Patriot systems. Despite this, according to him, “Ukraine found itself in a more difficult situation on the battlefield, which shows that there is no direct line between these weapons systems and how it operates on the battlefield.”
“Where lies the most direct connection between Ukrainian achievements and contributions? It lies through mobilization and human resources,” Joe Biden’s adviser said.
At the same time, Sullivan does not believe that if Ukraine had received permission to receive any of the weapons systems earlier, it would have had a significant impact on the battlefield.
“Have we seen a marked difference on the battlefield since we provided tanks to Ukraine? Similarly, have we seen a marked difference in the use of F-16 fighter jets? We believe that no single weapon system is decisive in this battle.
It’s about human resources, and in our view, Ukraine needs to do more to strengthen its position in terms of the number of forces it has on the front line,” Sullivan said.
We will remind you that the other day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that Ukraine received only half of the promised weapons from the US, and European aid for the Ukrainian army was no less.
It also became known earlier that the Biden administration also plans to send a request to Congress for new aid to Ukraine for the 2025 fiscal year.
