The connections of the UOC -MP with the Russian Orthodox Church confirmed a study that conducted state -tech -based on the presence of signs of affiliation of the Metropolitanate of the Kiev Metropolitanate of the ROC, whose activity in Ukraine is forbidden in Ukraine.
State ethno -policy has sent a prescription to the Metropolitanate of the UOC, demanding to eliminate the violation of the law “On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations”. UOC Primate Metropolitan Onufri refused to execute the specified order.
The desks indicated that due to the lack of grounds to consider violations eliminated or the order – false, the State Education Policy recognized the Metropolitanate of the UOC with the Russian Orthodox Church.
On May 9, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the procedure for conducting a study of involvement of religious organizations in the Russian Federation, as well as the procedure for considering the confirmation of the facts of the use of a religious organization to promote the ideology of the “Russian measure”.
The Ukrainian Orthodox Church (MP) appealed this resolution in court.
On May 20, the State Everal Staff began research on the presence of signs of affiliation of the UOC (MP) with a prohibited foreign religious organization.
On July 2, Volodymyr Zelensky ceased the citizenship of Ukraine Metropolitan Onufri, the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. According to the SBU, he has a Russian passport.
On August 20, 2024, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law prohibition of religious organizations related to the Russian Federation in Ukraine. He assumes that In case of detection of signs of affiliation of a religious organization with the Russian Federation, the dex must issue a prescription in order to eliminate them for 9 months.
