“Situation is unstable”: IAEA reports that the firing was heard

On April 23, experts in Zaporizhzhya NPPs heard loud shots near the main administrative building where their office is located.

“The fact that it seemed almost unthinkable – the testimony of hostilities near a large nuclear facility – has become an almost daily phenomenon and familiar part of life at the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. From the point of view of nuclear security, this is definitely an unstable situation,” said Raphael Gross CEO.

Despite the regular sounds of hostilities, IAEA experts continue to check on the station for monitoring and assessing the state of nuclear safety and security.

On the night of April 9, eight drones were recorded just four kilometers from the South Ukrainian NPP.

The Russians were occupied by the NPP on March 4, 2022. Since then, the station has been on the verge of catastrophe due to the actions of the Russians.
