SBU completed the investigation of “Gandziuk Case”: Final Customer – Manger

The Security Service of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s office completed the pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings on suspicion of the chairman of the Kherson Regional Council Vladislav Mannger and the assistant consultant of the same council of the same council Alexei Levin in the organization of the attack on Kateryna Gandziuk.

Details: According to the SBU, according to the investigation, Manger is suspected that, according to a prior conspiracy with Levin, he organized grievous bodily harm to Kateryna Gandziuk, which led to her death.

Manger and Levin are suspected of committing the crimes under Part 3 of Art. 27, Part 2 of Art. 28 and Part 2 of Art. 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The SBU investigators informed the suspects, their defenders, the victim and their representatives to complete the pre -trial investigation.

Prehistory:

• On July 31, 2018, in Kherson, a man poured on the activist Kateryna Gandziuk acid at the entrance. She got to the intensive care unit with severe burns, and for 3 months she died in hospital after many surgery.
• On June 6, 2019, after 5 accused of the crime, they pleaded guilty and went to an agreement with the investigation, the court issued their sentences.
• On March 16, one of the suspects in organizing Alexei Levin was extradited to Ukraine from Bulgaria. The court in Kiev took him into custody.
• At the end of March, Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova eliminated her deputy Viktor Trepak from all cases, which is being investigated by the Security Service, including the attack on Kateryna Gandziuk. Trepak resigned.
• Father Gandziuk called the disgrace of the new prosecutor’s office in investigating this crime, including the removal of Trepak.
• Prosecutor General Irina Venediktova, at the same time, assured that the investigation of the murder of activist Kateryna Gandziuk will not lose the pace and will be brought to an end.
