The draft federal budget for 2025 and for the planning period of 2026 and 2027 was submitted to the State Duma on September 30.
A week before, the Bloomberg agency got acquainted with the project of the three-year Russian budget, which provided for military spending of 13.2 trillion rubles ($142 billion or 6.2% of GDP), that is, less than in the current version.
In the 2024 budget, 10.4 trillion rubles were set aside for military spending, which was a record at the time. A year ago, it was predicted that in 2025 and 2026, military spending would decrease to 8.5 and 7.4 trillion rubles, respectively.
