In the conclusions of the EU summit, held on March 20 in Brussels, it is noted that Russia should demonstrate a real desire to end the war on Ukraine.

The conclusions welcome the joint statement of Ukraine and the US on the results of their meeting in Saudi Arabia, which outlines the ceasefire proposals, and indicates the restoration of intelligence exchange and assistance in ensuring security from the United States.

“The European Council calls on Russia to show real political will to end the war,” the document emphasizes.

Leaders of 26 EU countries emphasize that the path to peace should include efforts to provide humanitarian aid, exchange of prisoners of war, dismissal of civilians and return all Ukrainian children stolen.

The European Union has expressed their willingness to increase pressure on Russia, in particular by imposing additional sanctions and increasing the enforcement of existing measures.
