Russia attacks electricity generation and transmission facilities throughout Ukraine, emergency blackouts introduced – Ministry of Energy

The Russian military is attacking energy system facilities throughout the country with missiles. Emergency power outages have been introduced, Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko said.

According to him, “the enemy is hitting electricity generation and transmission facilities throughout Ukraine with missiles.”

“The operator of the transmission system urgently introduced the mode of emergency power outages. Where possible, rescuers and energy workers are already working on eliminating the consequences. The light will win!” Galushchenko noted.

According to energy experts, due to the massive strike, emergency shutdowns were applied in the city of Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk regions. Also, since 06:53, emergency power outages have been applied in the Cherkasy region.

In addition, there is currently no electricity supply in some areas of Odessa.

Emergency power outages have been introduced in Kyiv Oblast by order of Ukrenergo NEC.

“Please note that during emergency shutdowns, schedules that can be predicted in advance do not work,” the company said.

Starting at 7:00 a.m. by order of Ukrenergo NEC, schedules of emergency power outages were introduced in the Kirovohrad region. Not all electric transport works in Odesa.

Also, emergency power outages were applied in the Zhytomyr region.
