Armenia is expected to give the US exclusive special rights to develop a transit corridor, called “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TripP), US officials reported to agency.
The route itself, according to the plan, will be operated in accordance with the Armenian legislation, and the United States will transfer land to the sublet of the consortium for the construction of infrastructure and management.
In addition, as Reuters learned, Armenia and Azerbaijan leaders will sign documents asking for the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group, which has been headed in 1999 by France, Russia and the United States for conflict mediation.
The media had previously reported that Trump will collect Pashinyan and Aliyev in the White House in their efforts to assist in the conclusion of a peace agreement between countries that have been in the conflict for many years.
Azerbaijan and Armenia were actually in a state of war after declaring independence more than 30 years ago, and in 2020 and 2023, Azerbaijan returned control over Nagorny Karabakh as a result of hostilities.
In March, the countries declared a significant breakthrough in the negotiations and completion of work on the project of a peace agreement. However, the terms of its signing have still remained uncertain.
