Details: According to the spokesman of the border unit, Lieutenant Peter Zakillard, border guards in the doctor found this operation in 2024.

Two Ukrainian train drivers were arrested in connection with this case and accused of participating in an organized criminal group and organizing the illegal crossing of the border with Poland.

According to Martha Pentkovskaya, a spokeswoman for the district prosecutor’s office in Przemysl, train drivers threaten up to 8 years in prison. Men did not recognize the accusations. They will be filed against them.

As it is noted, during the investigation it was found that the suspects received at least $ 10 thousand dollars for each crossed person.

The prosecutor noted that the case was ongoing and further arrests could not be excluded.

According to the lieutenant, two citizens of Ukraine who entered the EU were detained in connection with this case through the detected smuggling channel.

Ukrainians were detained in Poland and accused of illegally crossing the border using deception and cooperation with other persons. Both men found accusations and explained that the reason for their actions was to avoid conscription.

What was before:

  • In July, four Ukrainians were detained in Poland, suspected of kidnapping migrants in Poland and Latvia to extort ransom.
  • In August, Polish Police announced the detention of two 17-year-old Ukrainians, who were claimed, painted red and black flags and left “Bandera slogans” on buildings and in the memory of the victims of the Volyn tragedy.
