According to information from the Polish side, the blocking of the movement of cargo vehicles, which was carried out by Polish farmers in front of the “Medyka” checkpoint, has ended. At the moment, the protesters have stopped the protest.

The passage of all categories of vehicles on this route is carried out in the usual mode.

Prehistory:

  • The blockade at the “Medyka-Sheghini” checkpoint began on the morning of November 23.
  • Polish farmers voiced two reasons for the protest at the border with Ukraine. The first is the failure to fulfill the requirement to maintain the level of the agricultural tax in 2024 at the level of 2023. The second is “concern about the European Union signing a free trade agreement with the South American MERCOSUR countries (Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay).
  • The State Border Service of Ukraine announced on Sunday that Polish farmers blocked the “Medyka-Sheghini” checkpoint for two days, but the action may continue.
