And according to Iryna Gerashchenko, draft law No. 11379-d will be presented in the next plenary weeks, which will officially legitimize these norms and establish the norm regarding the demobilization of “limitedly fit” 18-25-year-olds.
Bill No. 11379-d, which is supposed to prevent the mobilization of men of limited fitness under the age of 25, is still under consideration in the Verkhovna Rada.
The document should make it impossible to mobilize persons younger than 25 years old, who did not undergo military service or a military department, but were recognized as “limitedly fit” (up to abolition of this status).
At the beginning of September, the Council approved its basis. On September 16, it became known that the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defense considered and unanimously supported draft law No. 11379-d.
It will be recalled that on May 4, changes to the order of the Ministry of Defense began to take effect, according to which the VLK can no longer grant conscripts the status of “limited fitness for service”. Men aged 18 to 60 who had the status of “limited fitness” must go through the VLK again until February 4, 2025.
