The Contact Group includes more than 50 countries, which meet regularly to discuss Ukraine’s security needs.
“Leaders of these coalitions will need to approve road maps that will articulate the needs and goals of the Ukrainian Air Force, armored vehicles, artillery, mine clearance, drones, integrated air and missile defense, information technology and maritime security until 2027. These roadmaps aim to ensure donors plan and support Ukraine stably in the future,” one of the defense officials explained.
In another message from the Pentagon, it is indicated that the Secretary of Defense of the United States of America, Lloyd Austin, left Washington for Germany, where on January 9 he will hold a meeting in the Rammstein format.
“The meeting will focus on the need to ensure the continued provision of key capabilities, including air defense systems, artillery munitions and armored vehicles, as well as efforts to strengthen the defense industrial base,” the department’s press service said.
Earlier, the correspondent of Radio Svoboda reported with reference to the US Air Force that the 25th meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine will be held on January 9 at the Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
The Ramstein meeting, which was supposed to take place in October 2024 and was to be attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and US President Joe Biden, was postponed after Biden canceled his trip to Germany due to Hurricane Milton in the United States.
The Ukrainian president announced that during the 25th meeting in the Rammstein format, Ukraine will present its “victory plan” to all partners.
