OGP reported the detention of two residents of Poltava region in the case of murder of the military at the gas station

The Office of the Prosecutor General on February 2 informed that the residents of Luben and Poltava were reported suspected of murder of a military at a gas station.

“One is accused of obstruction of the legitimate activity of the Armed Forces in a special period, premeditated murder and theft of firearms, combined with violence (Part 1 of Article 114-1, Part 1 of Article 115, Part 3 of Article 262 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The other is aiding and abandoning the legitimate activity of the Armed Forces in a special period (Part 5 of Article 27 of Part 1 of Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), ”OGP informs.

According to the investigation, on January 31 this year, a resident of Poltava together with other mobilized, accompanied by military personnel of the Poltava RTC and JV went to study in the military unit.

“Having intended to evade military service, he called a friend with Luben several times and reported the bus route. When the bus stopped at a gas station in Piryatin, a resident of Luben from a rifle, which he brought with him, shot one of the accompanying people, causing a soldier a gunshot wound that was incompatible with life. Subsequently, he took possession of the victim’s automatic machine and, together with the accomplice, fled the scene, ”the message stated.

After a few hours the suspects were detained. During the search, they indicated in OGP, law enforcement officers seized two buildings of hand grenades, hunting rifles, cartridges, balaclava, mobile phones and more. “The material evidence is aimed at examinations. The machine gun was found in the forest plant, where the suspects were thrown, ”the prosecutor’s office added.

The criminal proceedings continue the pre -trial investigation, the court will choose the suspect precautionary measures.

In Poltava region in Pyriatyn, on January 31, during the accompaniment of the servicemen to the training center, an unknown fired at a serviceman of the Poltava RTC and JV, he died on the spot. The probable attacker was detained.
