“In Belarus, new military bases have been built – one of these facilities near Minsk can be of strategic importance for Russia in the war against Ukraine, because, according to experts, it is where Russian Oreshnik’s Russian ballistic missiles can be placed.”, – WRITE: www.pravda.com.ua
Source: Scheme Project (Radio Liberty), which, together with the journalists of the Belarusian Radio Liberty and Estonian editions Delfi Estonia and Eesti Ekspress, analyzed the pictures taken by Planet Labs over Belarus
Details: In this cooperation, journalists created a map of military objects of Belarus, which included both completely new and modernized old military bases and landfills, which, in particular, will be used during the West-2025 exercises jointly with Russia, which will be held from September 12 to September 16.

The first base will be near the village of Pavlovka, south of Minsk. The works began here in June 2024 and as of September 2025, the size of the construction site reached more than 2 square kilometers. Experts suggest that the Russian ballistic missile system “Oreshnik” can accommodate here.
Earlier, there was a Soviet military base “Pavlovka” military camp №25, where the Slutsky 306th Strategic Missile Regiment was stationed. The Soviet Medium-range Ballistic R-12 ballistic missiles, as well as mobile missile complexes “Pioneer” and “Topol”, were armed.
After Belarus joined the Nuclear Weapon Non-Playing Treaty in 1993, the 306th Regiment was removed from combat duty and relocated to Russia, where they were later disbanded. The base itself was completely destroyed. According to Radio Liberty, fortifications, rocket launchers, mines, bunkers, hangars and other military buildings are preserved in part of its territory.
Satellite images showed that June 2024 began to cut the forest and carry out earthworks in this territory.

During the year, in the western part of the plot cut over a square kilometer of forest and built 13 ammunition warehouses of 30 by 20 meters behind the defensive walls and 3 hangars of 100 meters long. In addition, the foundations of different types of buildings were laid here, connected by a network of highways, most of which are already paved.
In total, the new object has four separate parts – the main and three almost equal in area near each other. They are all connected by new roads. In addition, the foundations of future structures (probably hangar), the frame of the building are almost 150 meters long and earthen embankments.
Officially, the Belarusian authorities do not speak about this construction. Journalists also found any references to this object either in public official documents or cadastral maps.
The second new object appeared on the outskirts of Gomelfor less than 40 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. Journalists suggest that it is a future military base. The works began here in the late 2023 – cut down trees, cleared the area and actively erect infrastructure.
In particular, the photo from Planet Labs for September 4 shows the numerous construction equipment and foundations of several buildings. In addition, a new road is laid through the forest and the area is cleared from trees in several adjacent locations. One of them, according to the land plot of cadastre, should be a training and tactical field for training.

In state tenders and cadastrals, the object is marked as “a military town in the Gomel region with a educational and tactical field”. The Belarusian media reported that there will be a place, barracks and a dining room for 680 seats.
Radio Liberty notes that the size and infrastructure of this town corresponds to the size of existing military bases in Belarus, that is, there will be potentially a military team of an average number of about 3 thousand people.
“There is currently no official information about which unit will be based there, but given the fact that for” strengthening of the southern plot “the Belarusian authorities have created a new formation-the 37th separate landing and assault team of the forces of special operations of Belarus-it may be for her,”-the publication writes.
