He also reported that the defense ministers of both countries today will sign a statement of intentions to acquire Ukrainian production systems in Germany.
At the same time, Merz stressed that there should be no restrictions on the use of long -range weapons. “Ukraine will be able to fully protect itself,” the German chancellor said.
President Zelensky, for his part, noted that he was pleased with the new arrangements for joint projects on joint production. “We will not publicly say all the details. But today there are our arrangements for investments in production in Ukraine, first of all – weapons. It is the production of drones,” he said.
Zelensky explained that it is about financing new projects that are already available: “We want them to be in the amount we need. Today, the first funding steps between our countries will be taken today.”
