Macron: Without security guarantees for Ukraine, new agreements can repeat the fate of Minsk

Following the emergency summit of European leaders, French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the achievement of peace in Ukraine is possible only if Russian aggression is stopped and the provision of strong and reliable security guarantees for Ukraine. He stressed that without such guarantees there is a risk of repeating the scenario of the Minsk agreements that did not bring long -term peace.

Details: Following an emergency summit with EU leaders, French President Emmanuel Macron negotiated with US President Donald Trump and President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

The French leader noted that in order to achieve a stable peace, it is necessary not only to cease fire, but also to create reliable security guarantees for Ukraine.

Macron stressed that without such guarantees, any ceasefire agreement may be as ineffective as the Minsk agreements that could not prevent escalation of the conflict.
