The Foreign Minister of Lithuania Kiastutis Budris has called on the European Union to start work on the next, 18th package of sanctions against Russia, which should hit the aggressor where he really hurts.

Details: The Minister stated that deception, disorganization, distraction and delaying time is a strategy of Russian leader Vladimir Putin to avoid sanctions and responsibility.

According to him, Europe should finally break this enchanted circle and an effective tool for this is to impose new sanctions.

Budris noted that the 17th Package of Sanctions, adopted on May 20, is yesterday.

“The 18th package of sanctions should hit the aggressor where it is really painful-in energy, LNG, oil, nuclear fuel, our goal should be financial institutions that have remained intact for a long time,” the Lithuanian minister said, stating that working on a new package should start immediately.

“We have to move with this forward, otherwise our words will disperse with reality and who will believe us if we send such a signal again?” He said.
