Ivanov should also recover 100 million rubles and deprive him of state awards.
He was also deprived of the title “Honored Builder of the Russian Federation”.
Together with the former Deputy Minister of Defense in the case, his subordinate, as well as former head of the company “Defense” Anton Filatov. He was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison.
It is reported that the trial in this case was in closed regime, and Ivanov did not admit his guilt.
Initially, Ivanova was accused of receiving a bribe in a particularly large size (Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code), and then a few more criminal cases were taken on it.
In particular, the waste of more than 216 million rubles during the purchase of two ferries for the Kerch crossing; Cost over 2.9 billion rubles belonging to the Intercommerz Bank.
Two more criminal cases are related to the charges of receiving bribes – in the amount of 1.185 billion and 152 million rubles. Businessmen Sergey Borodin and Alexander Fomin also take place in these cases. They both found guilt and cooperated with the investigation.
Prehistory:
- Timur Ivanov has been the Deputy Minister of Defense since 2016 and was considered a associate of Sergei Shoig. After his arrest, he was removed from office.
- On the evening of April 23, 2024, Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov was detained on suspicion of bribery. Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin was reported to Ivanov’s detention, and the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu was warned in advance.
- The Russian edition of “Important History” stated that the true reason for the arrest of the Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Timur Ivanov is the State Council.
