From November 2024 to May 2025, the military maintained communication through a messenger with the former militant of the so-called “DNR”, which now serves in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. He handed him the exact coordinates of the location of units, military equipment, as well as personal data of servicemen – the names and numbers of telephones, the bureau said.
In particular, the person involved provided information about the location of his part stationed in Cherkasy region. The traitor deliberately refused a remuneration for his actions, explaining it with the support of the ideology of the aggressor country, law enforcement officers say.
In one of the cases, immediately after the data was transmitted, the enemy struck on the military unit. The traitor himself went on a business trip to another region.
Law enforcement officers detained the suspect. Searches were conducted at the place of residence and in the dwellings of relatives. Computer equipment, mobile phones, flash drives, hard drives and other media confirming its illegal activity have been removed.
