Rescuers have completed emergency rescue and other emergency work at the site of a Russian airstrike on the residential sector of the village of Svesa, Shostkinsky District, Sumy Oblast, the State Emergency Service (SES) reported late on January 4.

As a result of the attack, according to the State Emergency Service, 15 apartments in a five-story residential building were destroyed, and one private residential building was also destroyed.

“The blast wave damaged about 900 windows in four five-story residential buildings and seven private residential buildings. As a result of the impact, 10 people were injured, including two children,” the post stated.

The rescuers noted that no people were found under the rubble. A total of 46 rescuers and 12 units of emergency services were working at the scene

On January 4, Russian forces dropped an aerial bomb on a residential high-rise building in the Sumy region. Initially, local authorities reported that two children and one adult were injured. Then the State Emergency Service reported that the number of victims had increased to 10.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes committed by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are targeted.
