In several cities of Ukraine, people have protested again through the law on NABU and SAP

In Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporozhye and Odessa, in the evening, the Wednesdays gathered for an action with a call to the authorities to approve the bill to strengthen the powers of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

In Kharkiv, according to correspondents, almost two hundred protesters gathered for the action. They are chanting “corruption kills”, “the power of Ukraine is the people”, “hands away from NABU”.

Prehistory:

• On July 22, the Verkhovna Rada approved Law No. 12414 as amended to the Criminal Procedure Code, according to which NABU and SAPs become dependent on the decisions of the Prosecutor General. On the evening of July 22, the President signed the document.
• In many cities of Ukraine, protests have taken place after this legislative initiative was adopted.
• Subsequently, Zelensky introduced a bill in the Verkhovna Rada, which, he said, will provide “force of law and order” and retain “all rules for the independence of anti -corruption institutions”.
• The National Antorburea stated that the Bill of Zelensky will restore all the powers and guarantees of independence for NABU and the SAP.
