In addition to representatives of the Freedom and Democracy, the team will include anthropologists, archaeologists, forensic experts and geneticists. The nucleus of the mission will be experts from Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin, led by Professor Andrzej Ossovsky.
Representatives of the Polish National Memory Institute of National Memory also announced to go. Currently, they determine in what role they will participate in this work.
The trip is scheduled for the second half of April. A scientific base with tents will be equipped on the spot. The team will stop in one of the nearest hotels.
After the mechanical removal of the first soil layer at the place where human remains were detected, shovels and shoulder blades will go. Some excavated skeletons will be investigated on the site of anthropologists.
The purpose is to establish age, gender, as well as the causes of death, among other things, whether it was “violent”. DNA samples will also be taken for comparative studies.
For many months, experts from Pomeranian Medical University have been collecting genetic material from the descendants of the villagers from whom people found in the peoples.
According to the plan, exhumation work will last about a month.

- In 2023, the then Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Moravetsky visited the dusaders in the Ternopil region, where Polish and Ukrainian specialists found burial, where the bodies of killed peasants were composed in 1945.
