The greenery of the investigation, Bobilev not only showed loyalty and assisted the employees of the “Kalinin Correctional Colony” in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region, but also joined the beating of captured Ukrainian defenders.
In suspicion of Bobilav, four episodes and five victims from September 2023 to January 2024.
So, on September 19, 2023, on the pretext that the newly arrived prisoner did not say about the tattoo, the colony staff forced him to undress and beat him. Assistant Chief of Change Andriy Kononenko and Inspector of Security Department Artem Karyanov led the victim to the toilet. Bobilav at the same time, allegedly, joined them on his own initiative. The prisoners were knocked down from the toilet. Bobilav seemed to hold the victim’s hands behind his back in order to suppress possible resistance. And Karyanov and Kononenko beat the man with his feet on the head, lowering it directly into the toilet.
In addition, Bobilev, according to the investigation, participated in the so -called “reception” of prisoners. People were forced to completely undress, to stand up to the wall in the “swallow”, after which they were caught with rubber sticks. On October 30, 2023, the “reception” was conducted by the operator Dmitry Andreev. After him, Bobilav allegedly made at least three strokes with a rubber stick on the buttocks of the victim. And on January 18, 2024, he hit the captive in his chest with his leg, shoes in the boot.
At the stage of the pre -trial investigation, about 20 witnesses were questioned. The victims participated in investigative examinations. There were simultaneous interrogations of the suspect Bobilav with the victims, during which the latter continued to insist on their explanations.
During a personal search, Bobilav seized a mobile phone and a notebook. The investigators seemed to find messages and calls to the Russian mobile operator’s phone number. The notebook had records with the names, names and patronymic of different persons, as well as the name of the e -box and some mobile phone number.
At the beginning of 2025, the employees of the Kalinin Correctional Colony, Kononenko, Karyanov and Andreev, who are considered accomplices of Bobilav, were declared in absentia. The latter, while being exchanged and detained, will appear before the court personally.
The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv held a preparatory hearing on May 13. Defender Yevgeny Oliynyk participated in video.
None of the participants deny that the case was assigned to the merits in an open meeting. The accused asked for his case to listen to a panel of three judges.
The lawyer says that being under the arrest of his ward is unjustified and excessively harsh. He emphasizes that Bobilav still remains a military serviceman of Ukraine. The defender was sought for a pre -trial detention measure, and said that Bobilav “could intend to continue his service.”
There were neither Bobille nor his lawyer in court about the prosecution and only asked for a soft measure.
Before the meeting, Bobilav told the journalist that he did not admit guilty and could not comment on. The lawyer Oliynyk reported that the client did not admit guilt at the pre -trial investigation, and his position is unchanged.
In the case of guilt, he threatens from 8 to 12 years in prison.

- On July 17, 2024, 95 soldiers returned from the Russian captivity, including fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard, as well as border guards.
- Former prisoners of war “Leleka” Lakhno began to write on Instagram that one of the liberated, namely Maxim Bobillev, cooperated with the administration of the colony, where the prisoners were kept and tortured. And he did not want to exchange and refused Ukrainian citizenship. In Storez, Lakhno also published other people’s testimony.
- On July 18, the SBU registered criminal proceedings. The situation was discussed in the media. Different versions sounded. Including that Russia deliberately exchanged a “traitor” in order to “provoke IPSO of different nature” and to show that in Ukraine they would judge a released warrior after exchange.
- The representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense Andriy Yusov in a comment to Radio Liberty assured that Ukrainian special services “see and monitor this story”.
