Details: According to the spokesman, Russia has to agree to the end of Monday to the unconditional ceasefire in Ukraine, otherwise it is threatened with new sanctions.
In response to the question whether this means that when Monday will pass, Europeans will start preparing sanctions, Cornelius said, “That’s right.”
“When this day is passed, the policy advisers will begin to prepare sanction measures. In parallel, we prepare in Brussels a 17th package of sanctions. These preparatory work is happening in parallel with the negotiations (in Istanbul),” the spokesman said.
Prehistory:
- Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Poland called on Saturday to Russia before the 30-day truce, starting Monday.
