On the afternoon of November 13, Russian troops made an attempt to break through in the Kupyan direction, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

“Enemy assault groups attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders in four waves. In total, the enemy used about 15 units of equipment. In particular, tanks, armored combat vehicles and the UR-77 demining installation,” the message reads.

The General Staff also stated that some of the Russian soldiers were dressed in uniforms of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which violates the laws and rules of warfare and is a war crime.

“With skillful and decisive actions, our defenders stopped the enemy, destroyed all his armored vehicles and eliminated a significant part of the manpower,” the command added.

In the summary as of 16:00 on November 13, the General Staff reported 97 combat clashes on the front, including five in the Kupyansk direction.

The most active Russian troops are in the Pokrovsky and Kurakhiv directions, the command noted.

The American Institute for the Study of War said in a November 12 report that Russian forces had recently advanced in two mechanized assaults within and south of Kurakhovo in western Donetsk Oblast.
