Details: Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania believe that a new trade agreement with Ukraine, which is offered by the European Commission instead of “trading visa waiver”, which ended in early June, can destabilize the European Union agricultural market.

“Five states – Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania – have raised the issue of new conditions of trade with Ukraine today during the EU Council.
The European Commissioner for Agriculture Christoph Hansen also confirmed that it was about trade with Ukraine at a meeting of the EU Council on July 14 in Brussels.
“At the request of a group of several countries, we also discussed the revised agreement with Ukraine,” he said after the meeting was completed.
The European Commissioner reminded that “the 2016 PVZVT had to be revised in 2021, but because of the war of Russia’s aggression in Ukraine it became impossible.”
“Today, different views on this Agreement have been expressed, and I consider it useful to have a candid discussion in this format. I outlined the facts about this agreement and reported that it was in the interests of our farmers,” he said.
However, according to the “European Truth”, these five states continue to insist on changing the draft amendments to the Agreement on the GVZT.

- On June 30, it became known that the European Commission has completed negotiations with Ukraine on the basic principles of revision of the in -depth and comprehensive free trade area (PVZVT) between Ukraine and the EU after the completion of autonomous trade measures (ATCs), which introduced a preferential regime for Ukrainian exporters.
