The airport spokesman confirmed Reuters that the whole movement was stopped but refused further comments.
Updated: At about 23:00 local time, one of the aircraft had an emergency planting despite the closure of the airspace. The reason was the lack of fuel for redirection to another airport.
A similar situation has arisen in the capital of Norway. Around 9:00 pm local time the military recorded drones over a military facility – the actershus fortress in Oslo. In response, Norwegian police launched an operation and reported the detention of two Singapore citizens in connection with the incident.
Later, at 23:30, several drones were also recorded above Oslo Gardeuen Airport. Initially, all traffic was redirected to one runway. However, an hour after the drone repeated, the airport was completely closed.
“Airspace over the Oslo Airport is closed because of a new drone detection,” says Verders Gang of the Monica Fasting Airport Communications Manager.
Prehistory:
- On September 19, three Russian Mig-31 fighter entered Estonia’s airspace and stayed there for about twelve minutes.
- Later on the same day, Poland also reported that two Russian planes flew low over the Petrobaltic drilling platform in the Baltic Sea, breaking the security area over it.
- On September 21, two German Eurofighter fighters were raised into the air to intercept the Russian military aircraft IL-20m over the Baltic Sea.
