“The good news is that Putin’s war has failed in its main goal. He intended to destroy Ukraine, but Ukraine is still free. He wanted to weaken NATO, but the Alliance is bigger, stronger, more united than ever earlier,” he stated.

The US president further warned that the world cannot weaken its efforts to support Ukraine.

“Now we face another choice: will we maintain our support to help Ukraine win the war and preserve its freedom? Or will we back down and allow a new round of aggression and the destruction of an entire nation?

I know my answer. We cannot afford “fatigue”. We cannot turn away. And we will not weaken our support for Ukraine until Ukraine achieves a just and lasting peace in accordance with the UN Charter,” Biden concluded.

The speech of the American president took place at the moment when Volodymyr Zelenskyi arrived in the USA to present his “victory plan” to Biden.

Some Western officials, according to Bloomberg, are trying to lower expectations from the presentation of the “victory plan”, saying that they do not see it as a breakthrough.

During a visit to the United States, Zelensky said that he believes the war with Russia is “closer to the end” than many people think, and called on allies to strengthen the Ukrainian army.
