At the same time, 7% of Germans want to help Ukraine only money, and another 8% – only weapons. 6% did not decide, and 3% of the Germans said they were indifferent to this issue.
Sociologists also found that 51% of women and 40% of men want to stop Ukraine’s support. In contrast, they want to continue to send weapons and money to Ukraine 35% of men and 22% of women.
The age -old distribution is also interesting: most Germans between the ages of 18 and 29 (57%) want the next government to stop Ukraine’s support. In the age group for more than 70 years, only 28% of respondents want to send weapons or money to Ukraine.
Ukraine support is also more widespread in Germany. 61% of respondents from East Germany want to stop help, while in Western Germany there are much less than 42%. At the same time, 30% of Western Germany residents want to continue Ukraine with weapons and money. Only 21%in the East.
When it comes to parties, one party stands out especially: 72% of “green” voters want to continue to support Ukraine with money and weapons. They are followed by 45% of the voters of the free democratic party, as well as a third of the voters of the Union. Most of the “Alternatives for Germany” and the Sarah Wagenknecht Alliance want to stop Ukraine’s support (79%).
The survey was conducted online on February 24, 2025. In total, 1,000 inhabitants of Germany aged 18 years of age and older were interviewed; Only 834 respondents answered when asked what parties they prefer. The survey is representative.
