The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that he excludes the export of Ukrainian-made drones, because it is “very dangerous”. According to him, this issue needs special attention.

Zelenskyi announced this on Friday, October 18, in an interview with Ukrainian TV channels, which was broadcast on the air of the One News telethon.

I asked the Secretary of Defense to think about what the models might be. But I exclude, for example, the moment of export, it is very dangerous – if we export to someone, and then it can be in Russia,” said the president.

Zelenskyy added that only countries that are part of the Ramstein coalition and help Ukraine can apply for Ukrainian drones.

Even among those countries there are those that gave money for the production of drones. And then I have a question – what do you think, if Denmark gives Ukraine 600 million for the domestic production of drones, does it really want to take these drones for itself? So I don’t mind if something develops. But with all due respect to Middle Eastern countries and other countries, but those who did not help us with weapons, I do not think we have the right to export there,” the president emphasized.

On October 18, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov announced that the ban on the export of Ukrainian weapons could be lifted.

On October 9, the Financial Times reported that Ukraine is moving towards lifting the ban on the export of drones during wartime — due to the need for money to increase the scale of its own production of UAVs to match the capabilities of the Russian army on the battlefield.
