Zelenskyi on Britain’s latest sanctions against the Russian Federation: an important step that needs support at the EU level

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the EU and other partners should support such sanctions against the “shadow fleet” of the Russian Federation, which were introduced by London today.

“Today there is a new decision by Britain regarding sanctions against the shadow tanker fleet. Thirty tankers are authorized. This is an important step. And it would be right for European partners at the level of the entire EU, as well as other partners, to support such sanctions,” he said in his video message.

According to him, the less Russian excess profits from oil, the less Russia will be able to wage war – this is an obvious connection that must work for the sake of real peace.

Great Britain has imposed sanctions on 30 ships of the so-called Russian shadow fleet – this is the largest package of sanctions of Great Britain. In total, London imposed restrictions on 73 oil tankers.
