“Volodymyr Zelenskyi held a meeting with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain Valery Zaluzhny, discussing current diplomatic tasks against the background of reports of his possible resignation, which the ambassador’s adviser denied”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
Zelensky said that he thanked him “for his work in the Ukrainian team.”
“And it is important that we all together protect the independence of Ukraine, our national interests, our people. We discussed diplomatic tasks that are relevant now and can strengthen all of us – Ukraine, our stability,” he wrote in a telegram.
Zaluzhny has not commented on this meeting so far.
At the end of December, information appeared in the media that Valery Zaluzhnyi was preparing to leave the post of ambassador at the beginning of January. But his advisor Oksana Torop said in a comment to “Ukrainian Pravda” that “nothing has changed. He continues to defend the interests of Ukraine in the position of ambassador to Great Britain.”
There is no decree on the possible resignation of Zaluzhnyi on the president’s website.
