The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that in the coming weeks there will be new negotiations for greater support for the energy industry.

“In the coming weeks, our new negotiations will be held for the sake of greater support for the energy sector, first of all – specific solutions, the necessary financing and the equipment we need. There are countries that are already helping us – in particular, these are the states of Northern Europe – and we are also preparing agreements with the countries of Southern Europe. And from a political point of view, such a geographically balanced support of Ukrainians, support of our state in Europe is very important,” he said in his video message.

Zelenskyi noted that these days, in most regions, repair crews are actually working around the clock to stabilize the power system and restore after damage.

According to him, the Russian military uses more ballistics in strikes, which means for Ukraine the need for “larger air defense, larger reserves of equipment and more precise and operative work in the regions.”

The Ministry of Energy announced that Russia launched one of the largest ballistic missile attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure on the night of November 8. In order to eliminate the damage and stabilize the operation of the power system, first emergency shutdowns were used, then special schedules of hourly shutdowns. They operated in Kyiv Oblast, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Donetsk Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast, Poltava Oblast, Chernihiv Oblast, and Sumy Oblast.

Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk said that such a number of ballistic missiles that directly attacked energy facilities “is hard to remember even from the beginning of the war, so of course there are consequences.”

Since the beginning of autumn, the Russian military has intensified its attacks on the Ukrainian energy and gas infrastructure, which supplies people with gas during the heating season.
