Details: According to the publication, Zelenskyy plans to meet with Trump in Switzerland while White House envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will go to Moscow to a meeting with the ruler of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
Both meetings will be devoted to the discussion of the US “peace plan” to end the war in Ukraine.
The United States is “close to an agreement” with Ukraine on points in the plan, while Russia has so far not publicly agreed to it.
Axios writes that the fact that Russia still hasn’t accepted the 20-point plan is one of the reasons why the White House has been reluctant to sign “prosperity plan” for Ukraine during the World Economic Forum in Davos this week.
During a speech at the forum, US President Donald Trump said that will meet with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi in Davos. According to him, this meeting is scheduled for Wednesday.
At the same time, the advisor to the President of Ukraine, Dmytro Lytvyn, later clarified in a comment to journalists that as of 5:00 PM on Wednesday, the President is in Kyiv.
On January 20, Zelensky stated that the condition for meeting with the American side in Davos there must be specific results.
