According to Zelensky, the actions of the Hungarian Prime Minister are related to the involvement of Ukraine in the domestic political struggle against the backdrop of the future elections in 2026.
“We just don’t have to get into our elections. He (Orban. – Ed.) Is done. It is that he blocks us in the EU. Eventually, this technique will not be winning. Why? Because people are there for Ukraine,” Zelensky is convinced.
The President also said that Orban is doing “very dangerous things” to the European Union, and Ukraine reports to partners.
“It can be against it, but it is not the right to take the quality of steps to block our introduction, because it is the choice of another state. Like we do not have the right to interfere with the fate of Hungary,” he explained.
Recall that the leadership of Ukraine and the European Commission had ambitious plans on the pace of negotiations in 2025, but the Hungarian veto was interfered with.
According to the results of negotiations in Budapest, Ukraine and Hungary agreed on regular consultations to unlock Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
It is worth noting that Budapest organized a consultative survey on Ukraine’s accession to the EU – Viktor Orban has already publicly voted against.
