The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, said whether he plans to participate in the World Economic Forum, which is currently underway in Davos.

“I have held appropriate consultations (on energy) with the energy headquarters, and online and offline meetings are a priority. Of course, I choose Ukraine, not the economic forum. But everything can change every minute because it is important to end this war – both the prosperity plan and the security guarantees are very important documents,” he told reporters.

According to him, the “last mile” remains to complete work on these documents.

“If the documents are ready, we will have a meeting and a trip. If there are energy packages or additional solutions regarding air defense, I will definitely go. But for now I have challenges in Ukraine. Let’s see if I’m still there,” Zelensky added.

The president announced that he has another meeting scheduled for the evening regarding the energy situation. But he expressed hope that if he goes to Davos, he will have a meeting with US President Donald Trump.

“If I go, I’m sure our teams are talking about it, then there will be a meeting. We always have meetings with some results. “Meetings with the USA should always end with some specifics,” he noted.

Earlier, Politico wrote that the White House has not yet scheduled a bilateral meeting between Trump and Zelensky. The publication calls Wednesday a key day for discussions regarding Ukraine, linking it to the fact that Trump will schedule a meeting with the leaders of the “Coalition of the Willing”, which unites Kyiv’s allies, on January 21. They intend to ask Trump to approve security guarantees agreed earlier this month in Paris for post-war Ukraine as part of broader peace talks led by the United States, according to reporters.

Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian negotiating team, Rustem Umyerov, said that negotiations with US representatives regarding ending the war will continue at the World Economic Forum this week. Also, according to the mass media, the special envoy of the Russian president, Kyrylo Dmitriev, will come to the forum in Davos.
