What preceded:
- On January 14, the Verkhovna Rada supported the appointment of former First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov as the new Minister of Defense.
- The Verkhovna Rada also supported the appointment of Denys Shmyhal as First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Energy on the second attempt.
- After his dismissal from the post of head of the SBU, the president instructed Malyuk to make the direction of Ukrainian asymmetric operations “the strongest in the world.”
- Earlier, Zelensky removed the former SBU head Vasyl Malyuk from the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and approved the Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov and the Minister of Energy Denys Shmygal.
